Man’s best friend, our beloved canines, deliver unconditional love and joy to their family. But they need care and maintenance too. And one of the best ways to care for your four-legged friends, is to give them the regular exercise and fresh air that they deserve. Here are three great options for where to take your dog in Wellesley to get exercise, socialization with other dogs, and pure fun in nature.

    • Centennial Park Reservation – With main parking located at 147 Oakland Street, Centennial Park Reservation in Wellesley is referred to as a “hidden gem” as one would not generally find it or know about it. Here, dogs can enjoy being off leash on many trails or even take a dip in the doggy pond if they are so inclined.  If off leash, dogs must be under voice command at all times. There is currently a Facebook group called Centennial Park Dog Owners- Wellesley with over 700 members. Join it to get more information about this great place.
    • Perrin Park – Located at Thomas Road in the northwest area of Wellesley offers another off-leash option for dogs. A few things to note about this park are that there are only a total of 8 dogs allowed off leash at any time. No dogs are allowed off leash during athletic events that also take place at this park. Lastly, only 2 dogs can be off leash per owner unless the owner has a special permit to have more.
    • Boulder Brook Reservation – Located in the northwestern part of town, these conservation lands are adjacent to Bates School. From Rt. 9 and Weston Rd, follow Weston Rd. north toward Weston for 0.3 miles. Turn right onto Elmwood Rd. and follow for 0.3 miles to Kelly Memorial Park. Park in the dirt parking lot on the left side of the road. This is not an off-leash trail- but it is a great 1.6-mile roundtrip option where you will find lots of people out walking with kids and dogs.

Wellesley offers a variety of settings for getting out with your precious pooch an in general, dogs are welcome until dusk.
