There is nothing that says “community” more than a town’s sponsored or organized annual events that get residents out of their homes, drawing them together for a common cause or celebration. Wellesley is a town that consistently delivers on providing an array of special events for all.
- Wellesley’s Wonderful Weekend – Perhaps the most anticipated event in Wellesley is their full weekend celebration that occurs the weekend prior to Memorial Day weekend each year. With events spanning Saturday and Sunday, highlights include the wonderful Veterans Parade and the evening fireworks display. Fire stations and Police stations have open houses, there is a pancake breakfast, a car show, art in the park, magic show, car show and dog contests among other scheduled activities. - Summer Music Series – For well over 40 years, the residents have gathered outside Wellesley Town Hall in the summer time to enjoy music performances and games for the kids. Concerts have brought all genres of music to the event such as classic rock, big band, pop, and tribute bands. Concerts are from 7:00pm- 8:30 pm on Wednesday nights starting mid-June through the sometime in August.
- Halloween Stroll – A newer tradition currently spanning the past 5+ years, this event is designed for kids up to age eight and features trick-or-treating through the Wellesley Hills shops and establishments with more activities at Clocktower parking lot. - Town-Wide Yard Sale – A community organized event taking place generally in late September or early October, one or more locations are designated throughout the town for yard sales where residents who register ahead of time through Wellesley Recreation, can sell their goods.
